Upholstery Cleaning
Your sofas go through a lot on a daily basis. There’s the wear and tear from people constantly sitting and getting up from them. Stains from food and drink spills. Crumbs from biscuits and cakes. Build up of pet hair from pets rubbing on them and sweat stains where human skin has come into contact with them. So, it’s wise to have your sofas and upholstery cleaned regularly to keep them looking clean and healthy.
There are DIY options for cleaning these items, but we highly recommend hiring a professional to do the job. Getting it wrong can damage your upholstery, and you may have to throw them out depending on how badly they are damaged.
When you use our professional upholstery cleaning service, you can be sure that we’re following the correct cleaning process, using the right products and professional-grade upholstery cleaning equipment.
Our process includes:
Identifying the type of material your upholstery is made of. This is a crucial step because there is no one-size-fits-all cleaning solution for upholstery. If the upholstery fabric is not identified correctly, it can lead to a subpar cleaning result or, in the worst-case scenario, the fibres may be damaged.
Checking if the dye is prone to bleeding. We’ll do this using a colourfastness test. Once again, this is another crucial step, because getting this wrong could mean your upholstery is ruined by the dye bleeding.
Thoroughly vacuuming the upholstery. This will remove crumbs, dust, and dirt from the upholstery fibres, preparing it for cleaning.
Applying a specialist solution to break down the various spots and stains within the material. This solution will be mechanically agitated deep into the fibres, ensuring no area is missed.
Rinsing and extracting the cleaning solution and dirt. After the cleaning solution has been given time to dwell, the dirt and sweat should have broken down sufficiently. It is now time to extract it from upholstery. This is done using a water extraction machine, which sprays water onto the fibre to rinse it, and then sucks up the water and dirt from the surface of the upholstery material.
Once this step is complete, your upholstery will be clean and will smell fresh. And because we use minimal amounts of water when cleaning it, it will dry within 2 hours.
